Frequently asked questions
I know there personal preferences to working with a therapist online or in-person. Here is what you can expect and why I believe online therapy with me is just as effective:
Online therapy is more than just a video call, it's still therapy, just meeting from the comfort of our own spaces. Think Facetime call vibes, but clinical work is being done.
You'll create a private online account on my practice management platform, Simple Practice. This is where you’ll complete online forms and where you will join the link for our virtual sessions.
Sessions take place through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform that you can access from your phone, tablet, or computer. All you need is a quiet, private space and a reliable internet connection.
One of the biggest concerns I hear is "Will it feel as personal as being in the room together?" In my experience, it does! My goal is to create a space that feels warm, relaxed, and genuine. We still laugh, celebrate your wins, sit with the hard moments, and have the honest conversations that lead to meaningful change... all while in your comfy clothes. Many clients tell me they quickly forget we've never met in-person.
In fact, being in your own environment often helps people feel more at ease. You can show up however, wrapped in a cozy blanket, with a cup of coffee and your pet by your side. Therapy doesn't have to feel stuffy and restricted to look a certain way, anymore.
Whether you're squeezing in a session between meetings, avoiding Atlanta traffic, or simply feel most comfortable at home, online therapy makes getting support more accessible without sacrificing the connection that makes therapy so impactful.
My fee is $175 per 50-minute session.
I am a self-pay practice and do not accept insurance directly. Choosing not to work in-network allows me to focus on providing personalized care to my clients without the limitations that insurance companies can place on treatment, such as requiring a mental health diagnosis, restricting the length or type of therapy, or influencing the course of your care.
If you have insurance with out-of-network benefits, you may still be eligible for reimburse from your insuance company. To make this process easier, I work with a company called Thrizer, a free service that allows you to check your out-of-network benefits before getting started. If you're eligible, Thrizer can help streamline the reimbursement process so using your benefits feels less overwhelming.
I am happy to provide a monthly superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for a potential reimbursement.
